Homeland Security warns PC users of Apple vulnerability

The Department of Homeland Security and multiple other outlets have warned PC users to uninstall Apple Quicktime immediately in order to protect the security of their machine. At least 2 known bugs have been identified that can allow hackers to inject malicious code and compromise the safety of your data. This past Thursday a blog posted by Trend Micro Security stated that Apple would no longer be providing support or updates for the PC versions of Quicktime, despite several known bugs. These bugs are able to be exploited on users who visit infected websites or open infected files. There are currently no known instances of these bugs being exploited yet, so uninstall it quickly before hackers can catch on! Quicktime for Mac users remains unaffected, and there will still be support and future updates from Apple. Apple has not officially commented on the situation, however they have posted instructions on their website for users to uninstall Quicktime. (https://support.apple.com/HT205771)
